They will provide budget cost proposals, conceptual drawings with various equipment arrangements, and even provide assistance with preparation of written specifications. This department also provides formal proposals complete with detailed bills of material and drawings, as required in response to your request for quotation. The proposal will include value-engineering suggestions if applicable. The goal of CP Application Engineering is to offer professional proposals that are technically accurate and cost competitive. Project Management: Like the Project Engineer, the Project Manager will work with you personally on all commercial issues such as project scheduling and cost changes. They will provide you up to date information on the project status so that you will not have any last minute surprises. They can provide you with manufacturing status reports as shown in the image to the right.
All metal parts, except the structural steel bases for our Power Control Centers are coated with a porcelain type finish of dry powder epoxy which is run though a 425 degree bake oven. The finish is virtually scratch proof and all metal surfaces, even those that you cannot see, are coated to a uniform thickness on the automated powder coat line. The fabrication facility utilizes state of the art equipment including computer controlled metal forming equipment, turret head punch presses and laser cutting machines.
Switchgear
Assembly: A unique feature is that CP not only manufactures Switchgear, but also the climatized substation buildings that houses the Switchgear, the Power Control Center, or PCC. Most switchgear manufacturers send their switchgear to an independent house builder. This not only adds cost, but also lengthens the overall manufacturing cycle. The end user tends to lose overall control of issues such as quality and project coordination. When the equipment is complete, the customer or his consultant only need to visit one facility to inspect and witness the testing of all of the equipment at CP. All switchgear is built on leveling pads to assure proper alignment. If the equipment will eventually be installed in the customers building it will ship directly from the leveling pad to the jobsite. If the switchgear is conventional outdoor construction, or will be mounted in a PCC, the switchgear will then be installed onto the structural steel base of the PCC or outdoor switchgear.
